Dental Technology
As part of our commitment to excellence, we are proud to incorporate the latest, state-of-the-art technology into our dental practice. Since our beginning, Dr. Edgerle has made it our priority to provide our patients with the modern care and innovative treatments they deserve. As a patient in our practice, you can count on receiving services which are in-tune with your needs and help you achieve better oral health.
Utilizing the Latest Technology to Ensure the Best Care
The dental technology we have incorporated into our practice complements and enhances our range of general and cosmetic dental services. We are proud to be known for providing cutting-edge treatments and work with each patient to create a personalized treatment plan.
DEXIS CariVu
This system is used to identify areas of decay (caries) within your teeth. It uses transillumination technology to create images which reveal any problem areas within a tooth. This is an important diagnostic tool in determining tool health and restorative treatments. It is proven to be 90% effective.
DIAGNOdent
The DIAGNOdent is used to find cavities and changes in tooth enamel structure. It is a pen-like probe which sends a safe, painless laser beam into the tooth. This system is designed to complement traditional oral examinations and plays an important role in early cavity and decay detection.
Digital X-Rays
Digital radiography has many advantages over conventional x-ray systems. This includes up to 90% less radiation, instant results and images, and better image quality. X-rays are an important diagnostic tool, and because this system produces digital images, it is easier than ever to send your x-rays to outside specialists for a second opinion.
Intraoral Camera
An intraoral camera is about the size of a pen and is utilized to help us see the condition of your tooth and gums. It allows us to complete a more honest assessment of your oral health and serves an important patient education tool. Because images are displayed on our screen in the exam room, you are able to see what we are looking at, which will give you a better understanding of our treatment recommendations. In addition, these images can be used in communication with outside specialists or your insurance company.
Paperless Charting
Paperless charting not only helps the environment, it helps our practice function more efficiently. It creates a standardized charting system and enables us to provide the most accurate and precise care to our patients. In addition to allowing us to maintain your dental records electronically, it also allows us to quickly and securely share your information with the rest of your healthcare team, when needed.
Laser Dentistry
Laser therapy has a variety of applications in the dental field. Our office utilizes this technology because it is incredibly versatile, safe, and effective. With this system, we are able to provide virtually pain-free treatments and speed your recovery. Typically, laser dentistry treatments require less anesthesia, have minimal bleeding, and are minimally invasive.
E4D CAD CAM
This system allows us to accurately and efficiently provide you with tooth restoration options — in as little as one day. We use laser scanning to capture the impression of tooth preparation, which is then translated into 3D CAD program to design your crown, and then send to a CAM technology milling unit, which uses burs to mill crowns, inlays and onlays.
This in-office system reduces the amount of appointments you need to successfully receive a replacement crown or restoration, as the restoration can be identified, created, and cemented within the same day in many cases.
Telescopic Loupes
Dr. Edgerle performs many of his dental procedures while wearing a pair of funny looking glasses called “telescopic loupes”. These powerful glasses have magnifiers on them, allowing them to see fine details that would go unnoticed to the naked eye. These loupes are identical to those used in microsurgical procedures in operating rooms.
MTM REVEAL Clear•Aligner
Looking to straighten your teeth without traditional, metal braces? This system uses a series of removable, clear aligners to correct common misalignments. It offers you a virtually undetectable, affordable way to straighten your teeth and improve your smile. This can help you improve your dental health, as it makes cleaning your teeth easier and reduces the chance of unwanted plaque building up on tooth surfaces.
This system can be used to correct common misalignments as:
- Spacing
- Crowding
- Midline Discrepancy
- Tipping
- Rotation
- Intrusion/Extrusion
